Cognitive Intelligence Tests in Everyday Life - Initial Survey
Please use a PC, laptop or tablet for this first part of the study and have your smartphone ready for further instructions at the end!

Dear participant,

Thank you for your interest in this scientific study! The aim of this study is to develop a new type of intelligence test that can be carried out using a smartphone and thus integrated into daily life. 

The test consists of a total of seven cognitive tasks and a final survey. In order to determine how well the intelligence test works in practice, there will be a few questions after the tasks.

Over the next four days, we will ask you twice a day at specific time intervals (between 9am and 12am and between 3pm and 6pm) to perform the cognitive tasks on your smartphone using the m-Path app (installation instructions will follow) and answer the associated questions. We will remind you several times during each time interval. Each test will take about 9 minutes to complete. Make sure you take the test in a place where you won’t be disturbed or distracted.

 

This study is only aimed at university students with English as their native language.

 

Before you can participate, we want to inform you about the study and following that, we need a declaration of consent from you. We would therefore ask you to take time to read the following information about the study carefully.

We will then ask you a few more questions about yourself and some personality traits. Finally, you will receive instructions on how to install the m-Path app used in this study.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.
